Selain dari membuat persiapan dari segi pakaian, persiapan untuk ahli keluarga dan tetamu juga tidak dilupakan. Kebiasaanya pada pagi Hari Raya tetamu yang berkunjung ke rumah akan dihidangkan makananan tradisional melayu yang menjadi hidangan wajib orang melayu iaitu ketupat. Selain dari ketupat, antara hidangan lain ialah rendang, lodeh, sambal kacang, lepat, lemang dan bermacam-macam lagi. Kesemua hidangan ini akan disediakan pada malam raya. Kemeriahan dan keseronokan semasa menyediakan hidangan-hidangan tersebutlah yang ditunggu-tunggu oleh setiap ahli keluarga kerana pada masa inilah setiap ahli keluarga dapat mengeratkan silaturrahim antara satu sama. Tak kira di bandar atau di pelusuk kampung mesti ada bazar Ramadan.Yang penting di bulan Ramadan yang mulia ini adalah masa untuk menguji tahap ketahanan dan kesabaran kita sebagai umat Islam.
